Leadership Academy accepting applications for second class

The Bar is accepting applications for the Leadership Academy 2009-10. The purpose of the Leadership Academy is to enhance the professional growth and leadership skills development of selected members to prepare them to make greater contributions to the legal profession and to the community. The second installment of the Academy will operate under the direction of a newly appointed Steering Committee and will provide monthly training sessions to participants.
The second installment of the Academy will be held on the following dates in 2010: January 23-24 (orientation/opening session), February 18, March 16, April 16, May 13 and May 20 (recognition ceremony). Topics to be covered include: Lawyers in Public Office, Professionalism, Career Development, Rainmaking, Work-Life Balance, Lawyers and the Judiciary, Pro Bono and Community Service, and Service to the Bar.
Applicants must have practiced law for not less than five years and not more than 10 years as of January 1, 2010. Interested applicants must complete and submit the required application and supporting documents by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Please see the complete application packet for full details.
