Paralegal Task Force
The Paralegal Task Force was created in May 2008 to study the possibility of paralegal certification in South Carolina and the parameters thereof, as well as to consider the development of a law office personnel registry to aid law firms in their hiring decisions. As part of its work, the group sought position papers from various organizations that would be affected by a certification program.
In May 2009, requests to adopt a voluntary paralegal certification program and implement a law office personnel registry were recommitted to the task force by the Bar's House of Delegates. Members of the task force continue to study these issues.
