Version 2.0 of this popular interactive workshop, presented last year, will include hands-on PowerPoint™ instruction for the creation of a visual presentation for a closing argument. This boot camp style format was a great success with a full seating capacity. New for Version 2.0 will be a demonstration of how to create a digital trial notebook and how to use a research tool for the collection, organizing, and marking up of case law. You will learn how your computer can be used to make all three aspects of trial practice easier : Preparation, Organization, and Presentation " by putting a digital “POP” into your trial practice. The use of Microsoft OneNote™ and Surfulater™, along with Microsoft PowerPoint™ will give attendees the tools for creating a digital “POP.” Prior to the Boot Camp, each attendee will be provided an Internet link for obtaining instructions on downloading the free sixty-day trial of Microsoft Office 2007™ (Student and Home Edition), as well as the trial version of Surfulater™. Ford Douglass and West, a Thomson Reuters business will also provide attendees with a thumb drive with useful software for gathering the facts for the two case scenarios and the organization of the trial material. Step-by-step instruction and detailed reference materials will be provided by Barry Middleton of Greenville Tech using the evidence and software that you will load onto your computer.
