What Should I Expect?
The Bridge the Gap program has recently been revamped! The new format is outlined below:
Day One segments include: South Carolina Bar services, benefits and obligations and panel discussions on substantive professional responsibility issues.
Day Two segments include: a review of the South Carolina Court System and judicial panel discussions.
Day Three segments include: panel discussions on the South Carolina Circuit Court and Alternative Dispute Resolution; a session on Handling Court Appointments, and in the afternoon short courses on Real Estate, Workers’ Compensation, Business and Corporate Law, Civil Litigation, Criminal Practice, and Estate Planning and Probate.
Registrants may choose one of two sessions per time slot on Day 3 that relate to the area(s) of law in which they plan to practice. If you are a licensed practitioner in another state or an inactive member of the South Carolina Bar and have been admitted to practice for at least five (5) years, you are not required to participate in the afternoon short courses on Day Three.

To register, please fill out the registration form and return it to the SC Bar-CLE Division. Please note the appropriate deadlines for each program. Please make certain that you complete the ENTIRE registration form and include your payment. If you are a licensed practitioner in another state or an inactive SC Bar Member and have been admitted to practice for at least five (5) years, you are not required to participate in the afternoon short sessions on Day Three. To qualify for this exemption, you must provide your Bar membership number(s) and identify the state(s) in which you are admitted to practice. If this information cannot be substantiated, you will have to attend the short sessions as outlined on the registration form. Licensed practitioners are required to participate in all other segments of the program.
