Boutique law firm is growing and therefore seeks an experienced full-time paralegal with a can-do attitude. BA or equivalent in experience required. High level of organization, ability to multitask, and superior communication essential to job. Paralegal experience is required. This is not an entry-level position and therefore resumes submitted that do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered.
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and transmit legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, authorizations, verifications, mortgages, notes and other pertinent documents as assigned.
Investigates facts and public records as needed.
Follow up on requests (verifications, appeals, pleadings and other requests) with Courts, agencies and other institutions.
Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling deadlines and hearings, handling phones, drafting correspondence, reading and routing incoming mail and faxes.
Creates and maintains virtual document file.
Open new cases and review documents for deadlines.
Draft and prepare closing letters.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and timekeeping software. Prefer experience with Macs. Preference given to those with experience in virtual/paperless environment.
