Under the direction of the Children’s Law Center’s Director, conducts research for the Joint Citizens and Legislative Committee on Children, drafts proposed legislation, and prepares materials for the Committee, including annual reports. Oversees children’s data projects in the Children’s Law Center and supervises selected staff.
Requires a law degree and 5 years of relevant program experience, a master’s degree and 6 years’ relevant program experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant program experience. Must have knowledge of children’s issues, strong research and analytical skills, and excellent communication and organizational skills. A law degree is preferred. Experience in policy development, report writing, construction of statutory language, and data analysis is strongly preferred. Supervisory or managerial experience is also preferred.
