A WebQuest for the SC Supreme Court Institute

Introduction

There currently exist a plethora of websites out there that cater to teachers and students of all abilities and capabilities.  What are the best ones to use?  What does my district allow or disallow?  How do I keep from being overwhelmed by just how much information is out there?

The Big Question here before you today is What resources are out there and how can I use them in my classroom?

The Task
The end result of this WebQuest is that you will work in small groups to more thoroughly explore selected websites for content and materials that can be utilized in the classroom with regard to Civics, Social Studies, and the Courts.

The Process
  1. Teams of two will be necessary for this process.
  2. Once teams have been established, through random draw, websites for exploration will be chosen.
  3. Teams will have time to fully explore the site assigned.
  4. Each team will prepare at least 3 different uses for each site within their classroom setting
  5. A report out period will allow each team to share the information they have learned and how best to utilize the material in the classroom.
  6. Following the report out period, the instructor will share additional sites and information.
