The first half of the presentation addresses the use of the financial declarations, how to address challenges the current economy places on clients completing the financial declaration, and implications of inaccurate representation short term and long term. \n \nPart two of this program will focus on understanding and dividing retirement plan and Social Security benefits. During this presentation, Ms. Johnson will address types of retirement plans, methods of division, tax implications, and division pitfalls to avoid; types of annuities, methods of division, tax implications, division pitfalls, and cash flow strategies; and Social Security, including retirement, death, and disability, and the impact of divorce on both parties’ benefits, and strategies for utilizing these benefits in cash flow analysis.\n\n\n\n11:30 am              Registration\n12:00 pm              Program Begins / Lunch\n2:15 pm                Adjourn \n \nAbout the Presenter\n\n\n\n\n\nEmily Johnson, Managing Director of Coastal Divorce Financial Strategies, is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA). Johnson has assisted spouses and their attorneys navigate the complex financial aspects of divorce, whether litigated, mediated or collaborative, throughout the Southeast coastal region. Her areas of expertise include pre- and post-divorce financial planning, settlement analysis, the illustration of short and long-term settlement implications, pension valuation and Qualified Domestic Relations Order preparation.  In addition to her CFP and CDFA certifications, Johnson also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations. She is a Plan II Honors graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and earned her MBA in International Finance from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. Prior to entering the world of personal financial consulting, Johnson worked in Investment Banking and Leveraged Finance for Wachovia Securities in Charlotte and as a Private Banking Associate for Credit Suisse First Boston in New York City and London. Johnson has completed multiple Family Collaborative Law Practice trainings and advanced Collaborative coursework, advanced divorce financial analysis coursework, and training in the area of Qualified Domestic Relations Order preparation and troubleshooting, and has presented numerous seminars at local civic groups, colleges and distance learning institutions on the financial aspects, ethics and common financial pitfalls occurring in divorce.\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n
